Biltmore Estate

The historic Biltmore Estate located in Asheville, North Carolina. The Biltmore House is a Châteauesque-style mansion built for George Washington Vanderbilt II between 1889 and 1895. It’s supposedly the largest privately owned house in the United States, at 178,926 sq ft of floor space. It’s still owned by George Vanderbilt’s descendants and remains one of the most prominent examples of Gilded Age mansions. In addition to the house, there’s the gardens and conservatory. Renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted designed the estate to offer four seasons of beauty more than a century ago.
